The first time I saw this book, I fell in love with it. It looks so cool and easy. The instruction is like the one I used in the first sketchbook I made.

I started by preparing two sets of signatures. Then I completed the book blocks with French slip and Kettle stitch.

To be honest, the exciting part of making this book was the book cover :). For the book cover, I cut three grey boards of the same size. I used this formula:

Cover dimensions = (height of the page + 6mm) x (width of pages + 6mm)

At this stage, I had two book blocks and three grey boards. I glued down the buckram in the way that one of the grey boards shares between each side, in the way the back cover of one book block is the front cover of the other book block.

I used two different colours of buckram. I glued them like in the photos. In this book, the gap between grey boards for spines are measure like a simple hardcover book that I explained in a previous post.

The only thing left was then to trim the book blocks and glue them to cover at each side. Easy peasy 😊
